Dear God
As I write you this letter in tears
Let these silent tears speak
For my mouth is too heavy
And my fingers too weary to write.
I know you can hear me
As these tears keep talking
And when my mouth lacks words
You still hear my tears talking loudly.
Lord, this world is too much to bear
The pain and agony I daily face
I’m feeling so helpless, lonely and sad
Bound in chains, yearning for freedom.
Hear my tears speak
And punish me not for my flaws.
When you see me falter
Will you give me your hands to hold?
Dear lord, strip me of all my fears
And remove the terror of my darkness
Be my shield and fortress
From those whose love beguile.
These to you I pray,
Amen.
