Under the same sky.
Translated by- Tanzila Reza
I looked at the city covered in flags,
It was badge day and a reminder,
of past glories, of heroisms…
I looked at the flags that were repeated, window after window.
It was the day of the banner and a reminder,
of arid beginnings that move our soul.
Because they rise against the raging wind.
Because they defend themselves even if our lives pass away.
Because in the full sky, in some celestial dawn, we dream of ourselves… Sometimes…
And we want to walk together.
And we believe we all remain,
under the same symbol…
Sometimes…
Looking at the flags I thought:
Friendship should have its own.
Let it rise with the breeze, happy,
like birds in spring.
If friendship had a flag,
we would have each other, here, there, under it.
As if under the same sky, in some birth,
We secretly hope that it turns into something good…
There are many flags, like many countries.
That of friendship will be unique, and it will be extraordinary,
It will have its time, and one day we will look back,
the miracle that flames, as when we meet.
Because friendship is something that comforts.
Because friendship is something that hurts, sometimes.
Because you can’t live your life without thinking about others.
And we want to sail together, this sea that is life, under the same flag and under the same sky.
