My Shelter
I will write to open
doors and windows,
To let the sun in,
It’s cold,
It’s dark here
Solitude walks outside
With its bare feet
And I am sheltered
Within me
I write
And open a window
I write
I open the door
I write
And the sun comes in
Slowly the darkness
Of my soul dissipates
And makes me rise
To the threshold of the door
The world is as I always imagined it
The pain is gone
And the cold too
I will wander over the beautiful landscape
That my eyes have created
And I will never return
To the cold
Or to the darkness
And much less
To the solitude
That walks barefoot outside
